Nura Logic
The founder of DELICIOUS INK, Nura continues to turn out amazing works in all mediums. Having a father who's an artists and a mother who too, works in all forms of creativity, It's no wonder this prodigy continues to impress the art world the way she does.
This Baltimore brewed artist has spent countless hours and years being a child of the arts. Inspired by her own life, the works she has produced are all reflections of her love and pain or being...well...human. Weither it's anime, sex, music, or a crude drawing of a piggy that reads, almost sarcastically "OINK OINK LIL PIGGY" makes one wonder, why tell one what to do is they are bread for it? "I love this, I AM THIS" Doing the flea local farmer markets with her family and selling pottery with (C) Tera Treasures, her mom and aunts collection of beautiful african inspired plates, mugs and more, it is clear, she was born to do this.
The summer of 2005 was when Her and Fr33dom began their journey into trying to make this a living. "Me selling my hand etched glass ware and art work at the farmers market was the beginning. After that, I took my work to the Patapsco flea market for a few years, before we landed a spot in the Light st. pavilion at the Baltimore Harbor" she sings, as she reminisces. "But it helped groom me and give me patients, patients i had to have while dealing with, y'know, life."
Delicious Ink was a brain child completely of her own accord. her love for the line work often kept her married to a page for weeks until she finishes what she's started. Being dedicated to the her craft is what sets this artist apart from many. "This is a life style, not a hobby" this is a statement both her and Fr33dom tend to live by.
So stop by and see the work of NURA FARDAN one of the founders of ABSTRAX and a permanent fixtute in the gallery

Fr33dom Tafari

Baltimore born but defiantly lives in his own head. Fr33dom Tafari has been determined to "move art into the mainstream" not for the commercialism of it, but to make it noticeable and well...fucking appreciated. After spending some time in Philly and working full time as a cook, Fr33dom decided IT"S TIME!
Along with long time and best friend Nura Fardan, he began selling his and her works of art on the streets of Baltimore in the winter of 2005. "Getting sick was part of it, but I just could't stop. I had a dream. I quit my job for this. This HAS to work"
As an alum of Baltimore School for the Arts, This artist decided to follow his path years after leaving the school. Dealing in oil, pencil, mixed medium, acrylic, cartooning this artist shows no sign of stopping. Also as the photographer for the underground book FIGURES OF FREEDOM, he deals directly with people of all walks of life. The book is a collection of women he has shot over the last few years, posing all on the down town street of Baltimore (yes, there is nudity in the book) Also as one may have noticed, he's obsessed with the number "33" Well for those who are out of the know. Fr33dom feels like NOW is the time. Owning the time you're in. "Chapter 33 is a side project that has just turned on my 'light bulb'. Switches go off in my head and this switch, the 33rd one has flicked" This energetic artist has started creating these off-beat short films, some as short as a few seconds long, and has begun posting them on youtube. Strange as they are, we can only imaging where this will go.
Being co-Founder of AbstraX along with Nura, Fr33dom will NOT in no way look at this as a job. " I love what I do", he smiles. " Nothing can stop my stride. I've fell on this path, many times. and I will, i assure you, fall again....Shit, I'll just et back up." Weither it's his charm or those long self censoring dreads, he defiantly exudes....something. And with the birth of his first child in March or 2011, I see in his eyes, he has a new reason for doing this...Legacy.
